Solan is (created on 1 September 1972) It’s the district headquarters of Solan district. it is located 46 kilometers from south of the state capital, Shimla. Solan is known as the “Mushroom city of India” because of the massive mushroom farming in the area as well as the Directorate of Mushroom Research (DMR) situated at Chambaghat.
Shimla is the capital of the state of HP. It is a very popular holiday place during the summer months and is well known for its Victorian architecture, which is reflected in certain areas of the Mall and the Ridge. This place is also a famous holiday spot for honeymoon. In Shimla Most residents are from the Pahadi community (the natives of HP), but there is also a sizable minority from Sindh and Punjab who moved to Shimla during the partition.
